A new play by Ciarán Myers
Its 20 years before the confederation of Canada. More "coffin ships" are arriving from Ireland than we have the capacity to receive. Most of these refugees will die before setting foot on the mainland. Their bodies make up the topography of a small island outside Quebec City -- and helped shape Canada's present-day policies regarding immigration.
Nearly 200 years later, what is our responsibility to their narrative?
This, like all things, continues to be a work-in-progress.
